Masugi Nephritis Model
The Masugi nephritis model in rabbits, also known as anti-kidney antibody nephritis, is a type of nephritis where heterologous antibodies directly bind to antigens in the glomerular basement membrane (GBM), leading to inflammation. It is a classic model for studying anti-GBM glomerulonephritis.
The UUO model, as a model of renal fibrosis, is characterized by interstitial inflammation, excessive production of extracellular matrix, atrophy of renal tubular epithelial cells, and tubulointerstitial transformation.
