Model Description

Androgenetic alopecia, also known as male/pattern hair loss, is influenced by genetic factors and androgen hormones. It primarily affects males but can also occur in females, albeit with less severity. This model mimics the pathological state of androgen-induced hair loss by injecting dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in mice.

Modeling Methods

  1. Adaptation: Acclimate mice for 7 days.
  2. Depilation: Remove hair from a 5×3 cm area on the dorsal skin (Day 0).

Treatment:

  • Model Group: Subcutaneous injection of testosterone propionate daily for 28 days.
  • Control Group: Subcutaneous injection of solution daily for 28 days.
  • Minoxidil Group: Topical application of 2% minoxidil 30 minutes after modeling daily.

Testing items
